The Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market and Depot Town Farmers' Market , run by Growing Hope, aim to increase access to fresh and healthy food while supporting our local economy and developing our community.
We have around 40 vendors each day, selling a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, breads and baked goods, cheese, meat, plants and seedlings, soaps, laundry detergent, and other homemade crafts and jewelry. We ask of our vendors that all the products they sell be grown or made in Michigan. The markets are open May-October outdoors, and we move inside to the Corner Brewery in November and December to wrap up our season!
We accept many forms of payment at the market including; Cash, EBT/SNAP/Bridge Card, Double Up Food Bucks, Credit/Debit, Prescription for Health, Project Fresh, Market Fresh, and Market Dollars. Stop by our Healthy Communities tent to swipe your card and get tokens to spend, or to ask questions and get heath information!
We are currently in the market's eighth season in 2013, thanks to dedicated vendors, customers and community members, and partners Washtenaw County Public Health, the Ypsilanti Food Co-op, and MSU-Extension, with continued support from the Ypsilanti Health Coalition
